Welcome
Re-Elect Lorne Harvey for Councillor Ward 3
Running today for a better tomorrow!
Running today for a better tomorrow!
There is only one thing as a candidate that I can promise you. That is that I will be available and engage with residents, businesses, and industry and advocate on your behalf. Getting out into the community is the only way to find out what is happening and getting to know the people.
Over my first term as Councillor, I promptly returned emails and phone calls. I had coffee with residents to listen to their concerns. Additionally, I had many Councillor Chats (open houses) where I listened to community members and updated them on what is happening in the Ward.
I have attended many events, business visitations, and networked with neighboring municipal elected officials.
Ward 3 Coun. Harvey: Budget 2025: Shaping a stable, growing future | Sherwood Park News
Growth is important to any community, and Strathcona County is no different. We are forecasting a growth rate of 3% over the next few years. This is significant for any community and how we tackle it is important. I want to ensure that as we grow we plan for the necessary supports that are required for new growth. This includes Fire Halls, Parks, Recreation facilities, Health care and Schools (provincial responsibility).
As elected officials we need to further advocate to the other levels of Government to do their part and their responsibility in providing Schools, Healthcare, and safe Transportation corridors as we grow. Continue to advocate for the Province to complete our Hospital and build us a new Court House!

Seniors make up approximately 34% of the population in Strathcona County. They are the people that built this community to where it is at today. How can we better support this group?
In 2023 I brought forward a motion to increase the Low Income Senior Tax rebate from $100 to $250. This was fully supported by Council.
In 2024 Councillor Anderson and myself brought forward a joint motion to have funding put aside to Plan and Design a Seniors Centre. This was supported by Council and I am happy to say the planning and design phase is moving forward. Council has also allocated funding for a Seniors Centre in our Capital Plan. I would like to be on Council to ensure this vital project sees completion!
I think it is very important to show support for our local non-profits that provide amazing services to our residents. Whether it be organizations such as A Safe Place, Parents Empowering Parents Society, Saffron Centre, Sherwood Care, or the Food Bank to name a few, it is good to help these organizations where possible. That could mean attending fund raising events, being on Boards, advocating for them, and just listening to their concerns. As our community is growing, these organizations are busting at the seams, any support we can provide is helpful and makes our community not only better but stronger.
Running a successful campaign requires not only dedication and vision, but also the financial support of individuals who believe in responsible, community-focused leadership. I am reaching out today to respectfully request your support through a campaign contribution.
